Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc. Auditions
Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc. (TDT, Inc.) open auditions, junior and senior ballet / contemporary / hip hop dancers for membership, junior apprenticeships, upcoming performances. Ages 9 - 23. We are a theatrical dance company utilizing various dance forms/genres. Dancers interested in auditioning may attend in their appropriate age group and times listed below. No pre-registration required.
Audition Fee: $10 for all dancers under age 18 years. Cash only.
When: Sunday, January 9, 2011
Where: Northampton Dance Studios / The Dance Center, Newport News
Dancers age 15 - 17 & 18 - 23:
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Registration
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm, Audition time
Dancers should be able to move between the following genres: Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop. Should have at least 5 years dance training. Experience in hip hop recommended, not required.
Dancers will be given a brief warmup followed by short choreographed group combinations. No solo or prepared material required. Please wear appropriate attire. (see sidebar).
Dancers age 9 - 11 & 12 - 14:
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm, Registration
1:30 pm - 2:45 pm, Audition time
Some formal ballet training and jazz or hip hop suggested. Ages 9 - 11 audition for junior apprenticeships.
Dancers will be given a brief warmup followed by short choreographed group combinations. No solo or prepared material required. Please wear appropriate attire. (see sidebar).
Selected dancers receive training and performance opportunities, resume building, no pay.
