Dates: July 27 - Aug 19 (4 week session) To register or inquire about the classes, please call: 766-3566 or 930-3444 The Studios / Directions Elizabeth Evans founded the Northampton Dance Studios in 1955. Through her dedication to the art of dance, the center continues to provide quality dance instruction for children and teens and dance and fitness classes for adults of all ages. More information, Mrs. Evans and Debbi Directions/Map Classes / Levels A complete year-round curriculum is offered. Please call for class schedules. Classes are offered in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Pop, Fusion, and Tap. Some of these classes as well as adult classes are offered in sessions at various times. The school has also offered Baton instruction for over 45 years. For description and levels of classes, please click on the links below.   Recital All students may participate in the annual recital produced in mid-June. We have produced over 50 recitals, each a themed production utilizing full stage backdrops and various stage props, lighting and special effects. Even the youngest students gain additional confidence and a greater joy for their dancing by participating in the recital before a supportive and enthusiastic audience. Staff:
Registration Employment Shop Recital 2007 Recital 2009 Recital 2010 | Community Performances & Special Events Students have many opportunities to participate in performances for the community and beyond. Special Events Entertainment, choreography, and instruction is available for special events both locally, nationally, and internationally. Some past event highlights have included: the XXXII AAU Junior Olympic Games; Prestige International Festival, Roses, Spain; The World's Fair, Knoxville, TN; The Kick-Off Classic Bowl Game, Giant Stadium; the Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, FL., the Sebastien Majorettes & Marching Band Clinic, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and the Spirit of America Tour, Europe. Students have even appeared as The Simpsons in official costume at the Farm Fresh Extravaganza!  Community Students of all ages have participated in providing entertainment for: area festivals, convalescent centers, relief benefits, museums, art galleries, corporate events, company appreciation days, and various civic organizations and military sponsored functions.  Parades The studio supports the local area parades including the Chic-fil-A Holiday Parade in Coliseum Central and the Hampton Holly Days Parade, both of which are televised locally. Students may elect to participate in one of the parade teams such as The Elves for the youngest marchers (3-5 year olds) or the Pom Pom and Flag teams for older students. Leading the way are the Toy Soldiers. Along with the studio baton twirling team, Shelvy's Superstars, participants have presented a variety of ever changing parade-specific themed shows year after year for local viewers. Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc. (TDT) The studio is home to the Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc., a contemporary, ballet and theatrical dance company and non-profit organization dedicated to providing dance creation, education, and performance experience to local dancers and other artists. Many original works have been presented ranging from large theatrical works to smaller more intimate creations. Auditions are held for the company at select times as needed.
